Issue 3 🍵: Get a piece of this bundle!
Beeple shards, updates, and more!
Metapurse announces B.20
“B.20” stands for Beeple 20. As in, the 20 pieces of art that NFT fund Metapurse acquired for $2.2 million.
And soon, you can own a piece of it, because Metapurse is fractionalizing the collection.
If you’re new to fractionalizing, here’s what it means:
Currently, the art NFTs are displayed across 4 virtual museums in CryptoVoxels, Decentraland, and Somnium Space. Metapurse has decided to put all of that, museums and all, into a bundle. That bundle then becomes tokens!
Think about that for a second. Soon, you can go to a decentralized exchange and buy a token that gives you some ownership to:
Virtual land parcels, from popular projects
The museums built on those parcels
Music from 3LAU
Crazy, right? It’s really unprecedented, and we love Metapurse’s reasoning behind it.
Metapurse’s mission is to democratize access and ownership to highly sought-after artwork and accelerate the cultural Renaissance that is happening within the metaverse. We believe we truly achieved this with B.20 - the name of a massive NFT bundle we are fractionalizing so that everyone can have ownership over the first large scale public art project within the metaverse. It is important to note that we’re fractionalizing ownership, not the assets themselves. These fractions will be available as 1.6 million B.20 tokens, and can be referred to as the “keys” to this digital vault.
We’re hyped about this 🔥 It’s not everyday that someone decides to sell ownership to museums that hold a collection as good as this. Even if you don’t like Beeple’s style, you can’t deny his work ethic—the man’s made a piece of work everyday, for the past 13 years!
Soon, we can all get a piece of it.
If you’re as excited as we are, go attend the launch festival, Metapalooza, on January 23rd from 6:00 - 7:30 pm CST. And if you want to learn more, here’s the announcement, the tokenomics, and the B.20 website!

After the release of our last issue, we were recommended this fantastic analysis on Murat Pak’s “The Title” collection. (It’s quite academic, but worth setting aside the time to read it!)
Griffin Foster, co-founder of art marketplace Nifty Gateway, responded on Twitter to concerns about how centralized their platform is. The thread is worth reading to remember that it’s hard to onboard people into this space. Tradeoffs on decentralization will happen.
Creative corner: Shin Oh
If you were skimming through a feed, you might think that Shin just makes photographic compositions.
But then you zoom in, and you realize that they’re voxels, and then that just changes everything. Just look at the detail on that Christmas tree!
Shin’s compositions are already beautifully evocative. But with her style so reminiscent of Legos, her work just feels like childhood. Everything’s more simple and more complex, all at the same time.
We hope that description makes sense. 😂
Take note: Aavegotchi migration program
We’ve covered Aavegotchi deciding to move the Matic network before. Since then, they’ve announced a whole Matic liquidity mining program, with up to $100,000 in incentives.
That’s a really good opportunity, but it’s also a bit scary to move assets to another network. If you’re interested, you have until the 29th to slowly get ready.
